Since I do not eat regular Fried potatoes, baked yams fries are my personal favorite side dish when I’m serving hamburgers in your own home. These aren’t as crispy as fried spuds but they’re tasty and simple to create. Plus, you are able to totally switch in the seasonings as well as your tastebuds won’t become bored.
Obtain the simple recipe following the jump!
- 2 large garnet yams
- 2 tbsps of coconut oil, melted (I simply nuke it within the microwave for ~thirty seconds)
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground pepper
- Smoked parika (or perhaps your favorite seasoning – cinnamon is effective, too!)
Here’s the way i made the fries:
I pre-heated the oven to 375 F on convection bake (or 400 F inside a non-convection microwave).
I peeled the yams and cut them into even matchsticks. Then, I placed them on the foil-lined baking tray (line with parchment paper for any crisper exterior)…
…and tossed the yams with the coconut oil, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
I popped the fries in the oven for about 30 minutes, flipping the frites and tray halfway through.
When they were tender in the middle and browned on the edges, I plated them up and we dug in.
